As much as Charles would like to pretend that coming home would be easy for Raven, he's sure it's not. She's spent decades away, decades forming an identity distinct from himself and their childhood home. His mother and step-father are long gone, his step-brother only god knows where, and the entire mansion has been turned into a school full of children and teenagers.
He's just so, so glad that Raven eventually found her way home. He'd always hoped that she would.
"Unfortunately, now we have to settle into a whole new world," he adds, grimacing delicately. "At least until we find a way back home. I'm told a lot of people are working on that, but so far, no real progress has been made." He nods out at the party, where Fae and the Adopted are dancing. Many of the Fae are more than human looking -- with jewel-toned skin, or wings, or horns, fantastical combinations. "At least we won't be looked down upon for being mutants, here. Or so I assume."
